MPR's Process to Become a "Home Rule" City-

Here is a FIRST LOOK  of the Proposed Home Rule Charter compiled by the city's legal consultant, based on discussions of the Home Rule Commission so far.

This will be discussed and refined/changed as agreed upon at the next few Home Rule Commission Meetings.

Our New Home Rule City Charter is being created by selected residents; with significant resident input.

This is YOUR Charter; YOU can contribute and ask questions; YOU can help decide on our rules; and YOU will vote on its adoption in November.


Here's some information to help you get involved.

The Commission meets every other Friday from 2-4pm and welcomes all Residents.

Town Hall Meetings will be once a month and will be posted on the Calendar.

You can also participate in neighborhood social media information in the Facebook Group "Neighbors of Morgan's Point Resort" administered by the Chair of the Home Rule Commission, Jimbo Snyder.

Framework to Develop our Home Rule Charter--each meeting the Commission addresses a group of these topics, which become the framework of our New Charter.

When the Commission has a DRAFT of significant portions of our charter developed, they will communicate their progress and get MORE feedback.

If you are involved, there won't be any surprises and you'll be able to vote with knowledge in November.
